Annette Jensen is the owner and creative force behind Sweet 200 salon in Dallas, Texas. Annette is more than your average hair stylist. She is highly trained and constantly keeping up with the changing world of style. She’s got her finger on the pulse of fashion.
Annette began her training in Green Bay, Wisconsin, where she graduated from the Wisconsin College of Cosmetology in 1988. She furthered her education by completing the Advanced Hair Cutting Training course with Horst Rechelbacher, CEO of AVEDA Institute, in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1989. In 1992, Annette completed the Advanced Hair Cutting Training at Sebastian International in Los Angeles, California. She moved to Dallas, Texas and trained as an intern for the Looker Hair Group, one of Dallas’ most cutting edge salons of the 90’s.
It was always Annette’s dream to open her own salon. It was 2002 and Deep Ellum, near downtown Dallas, was the place to be. Sweet 200 was now established. The vibe in Deep Ellum was hip and fashionable with a large influence on music. Music plays a big part in the success of Sweet 200. Annette has acted as stylist for some of America’s premier musicians, including Cake, The Old 97’s, Ugly Mustard and The Eagles.
In 2008, Annette moved her salon to Oak Cliff. Near the Bishop Arts District, the salon is located next to many of Dallas premiere restaurants, including Bolsa and Hatties. The new location is similar to the old one in that it is a great space with lots of natural light. It still has the feeling of an art gallery, which makes it the perfect place to host events. In fact, Sweet 200 has had many charity events including the Kings Hwy Conservation District silent auction, and a cut-a-thon fund raiser for a local family in need.
Sweet 200 has successfully become part of a great community in Dallas they can proudly call home.
Ashley Dootson has been a member of the Sweet200 family for more than 4 years. She graduated from Ogle in 2006, followed by a brief stop at Salon Pompeo, before she found her true home at Sweet200. It was still in Deep Ellum, when Ashley began her training under Annette Jensen. Her apprenticeship lasted for one year and during this time she developed her foundation for cutting and coloring.
She has furthered her career while being on the floor with several advanced classes, including Unite cutting and product knowledge classes, video classes with Kevin Murphy, foiling and styling technique classes with Ron Blevins, and a series of razor (surface and texture) cutting, by Annette Jensen.
This year Ashley spent a week devoted to the cornerstone techniques for Sassoon trained stylists, allowing her the time and space to truly perfect lines, graduation and layering. This course provided the very best structure for boosting her skills and knowledge. She achieved this by immersing herself in hands-on practical work sessions and detailed tutorials from highly qualified instructors.
Some of Ashley's clients have been seen in such publications as Envy Magazine, The Quick, Oak Cliff People & the Dallas Observer. She has also done hair for several Envy sponsored fashion events. Recently, Ashley was interviewed by Fox33 for her participation in the collection of hair for the oil spill. She has worked with local talent, Tara Tonini, collaborating with her at fashion shows and has added models from the Kim Dawson Agency, Grammy award winners, and actresses to her clientele repertoire.
Ashley is a very conscientious hairdresser. Her consultations are dedicated to giving her clients exactly what they want.
Jamy Porter has been doing hair for the past ten years. She has trained with Vidal Sassoon, Beth Manardi, Irvan Rusk and Fredrick Fekkai. Jamy was part of the Rusk International Design Team for a year and has been working with Sweet 200 for the past four years now.
Stephen Hammett is back at Sweet 200! Every great team needs to have someone with a little attitude. Stephen has attitude. He also has a brilliant style of cutting. From classic to progressive, he does not disappoint.
A native Texan, Stephen has gone back & forth to Denton & has decided Dallas will be his home, for now...
In 2000, the tall, lean, handsome, 20 something decided to cure his passion for hairdressing by entering the Ogle School of Hair Design. Upon graduating, he did a short apprenticeship with Richard Haylor salon. He left there to find a more creative instruction at the hands of Toni & Guy. Here he did a 6-month stint learning the ways of round & square layers. A fasttrack cutting program was just what Stephen needed for a confident salon position. His 3 years there allowed him to train under influential stylists such as Holly Dear (Dear Clark Salon), Dat Phan (The Muse Salon), and Darian Bishop (Toni & Guy).
After establishing a clientele, Stephen decided to step it up & go to Sweet 200. Deep Ellum was hot & so were the stylists. Stephen's next hot salon was Avalon. It was an easy transition to the Aveda salon, with their progressive style. After a few years of working for the 'man' Stephen has returned to his true home.
He offers the most fashionable & modern haircuts with refreshing conversation. He does not disappoint.

While at Aveda, Tammy received many certifications in Eco-Friendly practices, Aveda Advanced Coloring Techniques and Aveda Sping/Summer Cutting Collections.
She moved to Chicago shortly after where she received her Vidal Sassoon training, apprenticing under former Vidal artistic and creative directors and specializing in Vidal cutting techniques and collections.

Lydia Johns is also new to the Sweet 200 team.
She studied Nail Technology at Metroplex Beauty
where she received advanced OPI training. She also has a degree in Fashion Marketing
from The Dallas Art Institute. It is always exciting for her to keep up with the latest
industry trends, melding her eye for fashion and love for nail trends.
It is her goal to offer the best natural nail services - always trying hard to keep products
as close to organic, free of toluene, formaldehyde, DBP (phthalates) and camphor.
Sanitation is extremely important to her as well. All pedicure footbaths are lined for each
guest’s safety, and all implements are cleaned using the most sanitary procedures.
